Broadway Medical Center is proud to staff the Emergency Room at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria 24 hours a day, seven days a week with physicians who provide care for acute and life-threatening illness and injury.

Thomas R. Edwards MD

received his BA in Microbiology at the University of Minnesota, and his MD also from the Medical School at the University of Minnesota. A Family Practice Internship and Residency was completed at UCLA's San Bernadino County Medical Center, where he also was on the teaching staff, before returning to Minnesota. Emergency Medicine is his speical interest. Dr. Edward's favorite interests include developing habitat for wildlife, Gopher sports and racquetball. He and his wife, LeeAnn, enjoy living close to thier four adult children and grandchildren.

D. Mark Odland, MD

received his bachelor degree in Biology at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. He attended medical shcool at Guadalajara, Mexico and at Buffalo, NY. He completed residency at the Sioux Falls Family Practice Residency in Sioux Falls, SD. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice. After nearly 20 years as a family physician, he now works exclusively as an ER physician. Dr Odland and his wife, Pat, have 3 sons. He enjoys outdoor activities, especially hunting, fishing, and boating.

David J. Odland, MD

received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. He attended medical school at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. He then spent 2 years in Buffalo, NY, finishing up requirements for his medical degree at the State University of New York. He completed his Family Practice Residency at the University of Minnesota and North Memorial Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He has practiced the full spectrum of Family Medicine in Marshall, MN, since 1985. Dr. Odland and his wife, Sharon, have 3 children and 1 grandson. He enjoys outdoor activities around the lake, as well as motorcycling and flying.

Richard D. Stewart, MD

received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. He completed his residency at thte University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN, with a special focus in pediatrics.

David A. Watkin, MD

received his medical degree from the University of Texas at Galveston. His internship was at St. Luke's Hospital in Fargo, ND. He completed his residency at St. Mary's Family Practice Residency, in Grand Junction, CO. He has 5 grown children and 6 grandchildren. His personal interests include stained glass, woodworking, bread baking, gardening, and bicycling.
